If you would like to become a member of our evacuation unit, You must have intermediate to advanced horse handling skills and have a horse trailer or be able to partner with a member who has a horse trailer. Please read our Membership guidelines.
Trainings for new members are scheduled as needed and include ICS training and in house training as well as a trailering skills check out.
We are currently not training new members. If you live outside of Santa Cruz County, you can look into joining other units in San Mateo, San Benito or Santa Clara counties. Contact information for tthe San Mateo and San Benito units is under our related website link. Contact the Santa Clara Unit through the Santa Clara Office of Emergency Services.
